Singer-songwriter Lesley Duncan passed away March 12 after a long illness. She died in a hospital near her home in England. She was 66.
She was primarily known as a backing vocalist on many British recording sessions of the 60s and 70s, and as the writer of "Love Song," which was covered by many, many artists, including Lani Hall on "Sun Down Lady."
She also recorded five solo albums between 1971 and 1977, all of which are worth hearing. She was a superb songwriter with a versatile, warm voice.

And "Love Song" was a "$$$million dollar cover$$$", having also seen versions by The Lettermen, Peggy Lee, Olivia Newton-John, Vikki Carr and A&M's Punch...!
"Love Song" was also the first "non-original" by Elton John, as he had done a rendition of it on Tumbleweed Connection, backed by Lesley on guitar...
