Hi, everybody.
In case anybody in the Washington, DC area has cabin fever after all these snowstorms, our band, the Black Sombrero Brass, will be performing at the Greenspring Retirement Community in Springfield, Virginia this Sunday at 2:30. Tickets are $5 at the door, in the Conference Center in the Hunter's Crossing building. 7410 Spring Village Drive, Springfield, VA, 22150
Here's our songlist:
Tijuana Taxi (featuring our trombonist on taxi horn)
Spanish Flea
The Lonely Bull
Mexican Shuffle
Raindrops Keep Fallling on My Head (in honor of our last gig that literally got rained out, to put it mildly)
Love Potion #9
Mame (audience singalong)
Green Hornet Theme (Al Hirt's version, just for fun)
Five Minutes More
I'm an Old Cowhand (trombone feature )
Limbo Rock (another audience singalong ...the words are pretty easy)
The Girl from Ipanema
Mexican Road Race (featuring our trombonist on revving engine sounds)
Feels So Good (as done by A&M artist Chuck Mangione)
This Guy's in Love With You
Icarus (from our own CD )
The Work Song (with Anvil!!)
Moments
A Taste of Honey
It should be fun, if we don't get blizzarded out!
Thanks,
Dan Haverstock

Hey, I just ordered your CD from CDBaby. I got the last one they had in stock!
Wish I could be at your show, but I'm all the way over on the left coast. |

You're right about that, Steve!!
It snowed hard all last night and it's supposed to continue all day today. Nobody's even started shoveling yet because it's pointless at this point. It's looking like we'll have to cancel.
Our last gig was an outdoor concert which got interrupted by a torrential downpour from out of nowhere... a total nightmare, but somehow our sound equipment, etc were not damaged, although it took a long time for it all to dry out.
Somebody up there is not a TJB fan, or more likely they're not a TJB tribute band fan!!
Dan
PS Thanks Doug! I hope you enjoy it. |

We're cancelled. Just impossible for the guys in the band to get to the gig... The snow is 2 - 3 feet deep all around the DC area, which may not sound like much to you mid-westerners, but it's a whole heap 'o snow out here.
So, if anyone was even contemplating coming to our gig, just stay home and watch the Super Bowl, and thanks anyway.
