Back in 1975, when The Captain and Tennille hit it big with "Love Will Keep Us Together," I swear a DJ at a top-40 station showed me a promo 45rpm with a label noting that Tennille was "Pronounced Tin Eel." (Actually, that's not really right either, but maybe it was necessary; this station printed chart lists for the local record shops, and they first listed the record as "The Captain & Tillie"!) :rolleyes: Can anyone find a copy and upload a pic of the label to prove my dubious sanity? :nut:
 
Looks like it was on a local Los Angeles label before they signed with A&M where the pronunciation guide is given:

Sorry, I had the wrong picture up there before, but it's fixed now.

Thanks for the great (as usual!) response. But the promo copy I recall was definitely "Love Will..." on A & M. This was at a station in Minnesota, far away from the earlier West Coast regional hit Daryl & Toni had with "...Touch You." (Wish I still had that old chart listing for the Captain and Tillie!)
