Have switched over to my Gravatar now, thanks. Love the new site!
  2. Well, this is different. Don't yet know how I feel about it. Color scheme is cool and I'll adjust... I think I like it. I see you also got the avatars copied over. Nicely done...

It's still a work in progress. Rudy's still working on things like color schemes, logos, etc. It's like moving into a new house with the landscapers arriving soon!

Yep! I do have the original blue color scheme as an option, which you can choose in your preferences. (Click the drop-down arrow next to your username in the upper right part of the forum screen.)

I'll have a couple more I'm sure. This color scheme is one I copied from another active forum and still needs to be tweaked more toward A&M colors. Although it almost resembles the really old cream-colored labels A&M used on their earliest releases. :D

There's also a color scheme link right down there in the lower left that'll let you change the colors on the fly. That's one feature I always loved about vB and the many color schemes at sh.tv.

It's going to take a little while to get used to the new layout, naturally, but I like what I see so far! Way to go Rudy!!

Is there a new spellcheck icon? Am I missing it?

How do you quickly and easily "quote" a post now?

And why am I " new member" and not a "member"?

And where is the oler, better emoticon with the sunlasses?

    Thanks in advance

Thanks Harry, that's one question down.

What about the Home Page? It used to be filled with so many great things
like tour dates and new CD announced obscure A&M facts etc?

Since most browsers have spell check built in now, the forum systems don't even offer it anymore. I don't use IE anymore, but Chrome and Firefox will underline an incorrectly spelled word, on which you can right-click and either change the word or add it to the dictionary. IE used to have a plugin called IE-Spell that worked really nice IIRC.

I'm not sure if I mentioned it in the other thread, but there was actually a bug in the ImpEx script I used to convert phpBB2 to vBulletin. It would fail whenever I would tell it to import the avatars. It also lets you choose the number of users to process at a time. What was happening was that ImpEx did not have enough memory to process that many users at a time with avatars, but it was not throwing an error message! When I lowered the number of users processed per batch, it blew right through it and got our avatars all imported!

Thanks for all your work on this Neil and everyone else who had a hand in the revamp.

And thanks for keeping this wonderful site going!

Time for a new avatar for me as well since it was a vertical rectangel. I'll come up with something provacative, I'm sure! Then I'll just have to figure out navigation here. SO far I love the look but hate navigating, despite Harry's tip in the other thread (which I understand what he says but can't see the "how" of doing so). For now I'm just going back to the forum home tab for each thread, which I know is NOT the most efficinet way to navigate...
