Baja Marimba Band 36 ALL-TIME FAVORITES
My 3-CD set arrived in today's mail and it sounds pretty darn good -- decent bottom end. They surely must've used some form of original masters. The discs sound as good as the Japanese-mastered tracks. The packaging is a good deal less than Julius and crew deserve, but I guess something is better than nothing. The set of three discs, blue, red, and yellow in color are housed in a fat four-disc jewel box, and sadly there are NO liner notes at all. There's the front cover insert that's seen on the website, and a back insert with a basic track list for the three discs. Logos appear for timelessmusic.com, Universal Music Special Markets, CSC Music, and a standard Compact Disc logo. Copyright is 2002 Universal at the Santa Monica address.
As I got home, we immediately turned around to go out for dinner. I took the set with me and listened to a couple of Disc 1 tracks in the car. They sounded fine. After returning and completing a frustrating household project, I'm now listening to Discs 2 & 3 as I type this.
Disc timings:
Disc 1 is 28:33
Disc 2 is 31:28
Disc 3 is 31:12
Total is 91:13
The discs have an [AAD] designation on them. It's the first time I've seen THAT in ages.
Though short (for 3 discs, as discussed earlier) and a bit on the pricey side, it's nice to have these songs on professionally mastered CDs.
